The Won't - Loud Enough (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)
The fellas of The Won't got together to perform their political anthem Loud Enough, but something odd started to happen. Was there a glitch in the matrix? We're a 90's / 00's inspired punk rock quartet. We blend our alternative and punk influences from over the decades, crafting new music for the current era. Slightly mellowed with age, our punk rock sound is perhaps a bit more mature yet still remains untamed as punk rock should be.

Choose the Right DAC for EDM Mixing & Mastering | Luca Pretolesi
Get the inside scoop from dance music engineer and sonic wizard Luca Pretolesi as he shares his top 3 reasons for choosing a digital audio converter (DAC) for his hybrid analog and digital ‘Studio DMI’ in Las Vegas—where Steve Aoki, Diplo, 2 Chainz and others get their hit dance tracks mixed and mastered. Luca’s ultimate DAC has a ‘no hype’ conversion quality, with a natural sound. He wants a converter that will translate multiple sources and switch seamlessly between inputs with zero latency. Lastly he requires precise metering so when mastering an EDM track he can accurately balance loudness with dynamics. Luca chose the Dangerous CONVERT-2 and CONVERT-8 DACs because they deliver on all three of his mixing and mastering needs. “The initial conversion from digital to analog is crucial, I want to have the best possible source from the beginning of my mixing chain to the end. Whatever I do after that conversion is going to amplify what is right or what is not right,” says Luca pointing out his most critical need in a DAC. Engineer Luca Pretolesi, of Studio DMI in Las Vegas, uses his musicianship for mixing and mastering. Taking tracks to an entirely new level. His approach is artistic, bringing a fresh perspective to songs and releasing the emotion that can be buried beneath unpolished sounds. He is able to enhance the music and create a masterpiece beyond the original vision of the artist/producer. Hailing from Italy where the genre was born, dance music is second nature to him. At 16 years old he was in school learning to perfect his craft as electronic music was gaining mainstream popularity, Luca has now perfected the art of mixing and mastering electronic music with over 25 years experience. He has created a collection of equipment including computer plugins, and custom made hardware, EQ’s and compressors, and high end mastering gear. This combination of analog and digital allows him to add his touch to any project of any style as he has the best of both technological worlds at his fingertips. Pretolesi devotes all of his energy to mixing and mastering the final product – not the creation of the rough draft. Comparable to viewing a local channel vs. high-definition, he creates sounds that you can see, and takes one-dimensional tracks and gives them depth and separation, and turns music into an ‘iMax movie’ experience. After mixing a track for an artist on Dim Mak Records, Steve Aoki picked up the polished delivery of the track. Aoki then hired Pretolesi to mix/master his entire album ‘Wonderland’ – a project that lead to a Grammy nod for Pretolesi and opened the door to work for the biggest names in Dance Music. Recent clients include Diplo, along with side projects Major Lazer and Jack U; Borgeous, Lil Jon, Pegboard Nerds, Gareth Emery, and Snoop Lion’s “Reincarnated” album which also went on to receive a Grammy nomination. Pretolesi has also worked with TJR, Cedric Gervais, Borgore, Morgan Page, 2 Chainz, and KSHMR, just to name a few to complete their works. Stem Mastering Part 3: Stem Mastering Applied | Mike Wells
Experience ‘Stem Mastering’ in a new way, in this 3-part video series by top LA mastering engineer Mike Wells. Get an insider’s look at a controversial yet powerful way to master music. Mike explains the crucial elements to success and demonstrates how Stem Mastering delivers the maximum sonic impact while retaining the original mix engineer’s intention and the artist’s vision for the music. Using a real-world example, Mike shows how the effects of hypercompression across a stereo mix can create undesirable artifacts like mid-range frequency buildup, loss of mix detail and uncontrolled emphasis on certain instruments or vocals. With Mike’s Stem Mastering techniques, he teaches you how to avoid these sonic stumbling blocks. In Part 1 of the video series Wells gives an overview of what 'Stem Mastering' is and why you would use it. Part 2 details the process of getting files from the mix engineer and preparing them for Stem Mastering - you'll also get Wells' own stereo-file mastering tips and techniques. In part 3 he shows you a step-by-step example of Stem Mastering in action so you can hear how the stereo image is enhanced while the overall level increases dramatically showing off the songs' inner strengths. In his Stem Mastering demo, Mike uses several Dangerous Music products: the 2-BUS+ analog summing mixer, BAX EQ, COMPRESSOR and CONVERT-8 DACs to achieve a superior master for the rock band "Hard Youth". "A popular saying in the stereo mastering world is that you've got to give something to get something," says Mike. “Those tradeoffs are loss of transient detail, loss of punch, shifting instrument positions, and frequency buildup—what do you get for losing all that? Loudness. With stem mastering we are presented with an opportunity to add EQ, limiting and compression without those tradeoffs.” Mike Wells began mastering in the late 90's, opening Mike Wells Mastering in San Francisco, CA in early 2001. After a decade of service in the Bay Area, Mike Wells Mastering relocated to the epicenter of the music industry, Los Angeles - CA. His Recording Artist roster includes Green Day, Prince, Tony Sly, Tommy Guerrero, along with Production Music companies Google, Apple, Megatrax Production Music, and Angry Mob Music. Mike has served on the Board of Governors for the NARAS (Grammy) association, President of the Los Angeles Audio Engineering Society (AES) chapter, and Chairman of many AES Convention divisions. With a studio hosting an array of boutique, modified, and self-designed equipment, Mike Wells Mastering offers Music, Production, and Stem Mastering services to the Indie, Professional, and Production music markets.
